First experience i had with the drag world was at a really young age. I remember my older brother bringing home a movie called “To Wong Foo thanks for everything Julie Newmar.” That movie is one of my all time favourites and that was the first time i saw mama Ru there. Good lord she was so cool and beautiful but above all else she was something i had never seen before, that’s why after a few years i found Rupauls Drag Race on YouTube. That was it for me. I loved this show and the drag world.
I always thought to myself that if i had to choose what i would be in another life….i would choose a drag queen…with my eyes closed hunteyyyy!!
If you think about it, the amount of sass, charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent those queens have is remarkable! You want to be them even if you’re not that into drag. Just the way they talk and walk and work!!
It is not easy to be a drag queen though…You need to be tough and be somewhat experienced to that kind of spotlight. You need to feel it and love it more than you love anything else, the only thing that’s for certain is that most of all you need to love yourself first. In order to be successful and to last.
To me drag is a way of life and a way of expressing yourself. I may not be a drag queen but those people are the friends i would love to have in real life, cause on their own way they are real, way more than anyone else out there. They can love you for what you are, black, white, fat, skinny, short, tall, gay, lesbian and everything you are or like to be.
So the only thing i wanna do so i can end this blog as best as i can is show you my top 5 Queens of RuPauls drag race. ❤
